Top five things to do in North Norfolk this winter

Winter is just over a month away; the days are already getting shorter and it’s getting darker earlier. North Norfolk has many gems which come to life in winter, so grab a coat and scarf and prepare for the beautiful winter wonders that North Norfolk has to offer.

  1. Winter woodland trails

Head down to Holt Country Park to experience the joy of winter along the trailed paths. Take your children, take your dogs, take your grandparents and walk amongst the crispy leaves and frosty grounds for a wonderful escape in the woodlands.

  1. Embrace local history

Wood Farm is on the doorstep from lots of local history and heritage sites, so escape the cold weather and learn a little at the same time. Holkham Hall, the Cromer Museum and the Mundesley Maritime Museum are some of our favourites.

  1. Feed the ducks!

It’s winter for the ducks too – don’t forget they need their bread! A short walk from the Wood Farm cottages is a pond in the centre of the village, with the occasional friendly duck!

  1. Wander the Christmas markets

The Christmas markets really bring a magical feel to North Norfolk. Holt Hall’s Christmas Fair is 25th and Sunday 26th November, with over 50 stalls showcasing food, drink, crafts and more; making it the perfect place to get in the festive mood!

  1. Visit the beach

Yes, this may sound odd, but the beach brings out a different kind of beauty in the winter. Wrap up warm, grab a hot chocolate, indulge in some fish and chips and walk along the sandy beaches on the North Norfolk coast.
